How to Customize Your Account Preferences
The account preferences menu in clipit.link allows you to set default options that streamline your workflow and ensure consistency across your shortened URLs. You can set a default domain, select a default space, and choose whether your link stats are public or private—all from one convenient location.
Accessing the Account Preferences Menu
Follow these steps to access and customize your account preferences:
Step 1: Log in to Your clipit.link Account
- Go to the clipit.link homepage and log in with your username and password.
Step 2: Access the Preferences Menu
- Navigate to the Sidebar: Once logged in, look to the left sidebar of your dashboard.
- Click on Your Avatar and Account Name: At the bottom of the sidebar, you’ll see your avatar and account name. Click on it to open your account settings.
- Select “Preferences”: On the new page that loads, click on the “Preferences” menu option.
Setting a Default Domain for URL Shortening
If you frequently use a specific domain for your shortened URLs, setting it as the default domain saves you time by automatically applying it to every new link you create.
- Locate the Default Domain Setting:
- In the Preferences menu, find the section labeled “Default Domain.”
- Select Your Preferred Domain:
- From the dropdown menu, choose the domain you want to use as the default for all new URLs. If you’ve added custom domains to your account, they will appear in this list.
- Save Your Changes:
- After selecting your default domain, click “Save Changes” to apply the setting.
Setting a Default Space

- In the Preferences menu, find the section labeled “Default Space.”
- Choose Your Default Space:

Deciding the Default Stats Visibility (Public or Private)
